1. The App
Verbaloft shows live translated subtitles for audio playing in other apps, in a floating Picture in Picture window, and also translates speech, conversations, text, camera images, and video or audio files. Recognition and translation run on your device using Apple's frameworks.
Translations are produced automatically and may be incomplete or wrong, especially for less common languages, fast or overlapping speech, and noisy audio. Do not rely on Verbaloft for medical, legal, safety, or other decisions where a translation error could cause harm. Some apps and protected (DRM) content do not allow their audio to be captured, and iOS shows only one Picture in Picture window and one screen broadcast at a time, so subtitles may not be available in every app or situation.
2. Subscriptions and Purchases
Verbaloft Pro unlocks the floating subtitle window, video and audio file translation, and transcript export. It is available as a Monthly or Annual auto-renewable subscription, or as a Lifetime one-time purchase. Features and prices are shown before purchase; prices vary by storefront and are confirmed by Apple.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple charges your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase and within 24 hours before each renewal. Manage or cancel in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions. Lifetime is a non-consumable purchase tied to the Apple Account used to buy it. Use Restore Purchases to restore eligible access. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
The App Store subscriptions do not include a free trial. Free users get a one-time, 10-minute trial of the floating subtitle window, counted only while the window is showing; it does not renew and is not a subscription.
3. Acceptable Use
Use Verbaloft lawfully. You are responsible for the content you translate, for complying with the terms of the apps and services whose audio you translate, and for any consent required by law to listen to, transcribe, or translate other people's speech. Do not misuse the app, interfere with its operation, reverse engineer it except where law permits, or bypass purchase controls.
4. Your Content
Transcripts, translations, and media you translate stay on your device and remain yours. Verbaloft processes them only to provide the app's features at your direction.
5. Intellectual Property
The Verbaloft app, interface, code, branding, and documentation are owned by their respective rights holders and protected by applicable law. You receive a personal, limited, non-transferable license to use the app.
6. Third-Party Services
Speech recognition, translation, and language downloads are provided by Apple's system frameworks. Purchases use Apple services and RevenueCat. Those services have their own terms and policies.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
Verbaloft is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chenglin Wu and Verbaloft are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, for lost profits or data, or for losses caused by translation errors. Total direct liability will not exceed the amount you paid for Verbaloft in the 12 months before the claim.
8. Termination
We may suspend access for a material violation of these Terms. You may stop using Verbaloft at any time by deleting it and cancelling any active subscription.
9. Governing Law and Consumer Rights
Subject to mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing limits non-waivable consumer rights. Before formal proceedings, contact us and allow at least 30 days for a good-faith attempt to resolve the dispute.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. The Last Updated date identifies the current version.
